Uncertainity - Drabble*

Maya bit her lip. She saw the laser lights ricocheting off the roof and walls. Searching for him in the crowd, she fell down. Her sight seemed to be blurred and hesitation kissed her forehead as she felt a sharp tingling sensation in her head. She thought she spotted him near the bar sharing drinks with strangers. Suddenly he was gone. She rose slowly and tried to walk back to the lounge. Her legs failed her. She looked down trying to remove her heels but she was barefooted. She had taken a sip of toxin strewn in her shot glass. Picture Source - here *Drabble - A drabble is a short work of fiction of around one hundred words in length

Drabble - The Call

I was trying to change lanes as my phone rang. Quickly, I switched the headset on and I heard a familiar voice “Hey it’s me. Are you at office?” I said no and the voice continued “I want to thank you for backing me and it was a pleasure working with you” as the tone trailed off. “What? Are you in office yet?” I asked and I heard a sharp beep. Traffic thickened and I reached office late. I had a strange feeling about my friend’s call and my colleagues’ faces proved it. The email subject read “Employees Termination Notice” Image Courtesy - Google A Drabble is a work of fiction written in 100 words. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drabble

Drabble - Subordinate

The meeting ended with an eerie silence hanging in the air. “Is this true?” he asked puzzled. I nodded heavily “Yes” looking at my hand and tears brimming in my eyes. “Honestly?” "You aren't pulling my leg?" “No, I am pretty sure I want this” “and I know he will do a great job as my assistant” "You don't know what you're letting yourself in for. Do you know who he is? That's the fellow you've got to live with for a lifetime." With a wide smile I said “He is my boss at home for life” He smiled back.

That Letter of Love - Drabble

Humming blithely one morning as I opened your letters; outside, the sky was blue and the sun shining. It felt good to be alive. I had let them languish in a box and let them ferment into dark poison, as if to entertain the ghosts in my house. I opened the first letter. It read “I am leaving you and leaving the earth”. A sharp ray of light struck my forehead and I wanted to fly. Far up, until the crisp air thins and  I'd  never want to come back down. The sky was still blue, the sun still shining.

Drabble - Luck

Alan was roused out of his sleep at nine ‘o’clock in the morning to find his room full of Mr. Robert. Robert was there in a nightdress, in his soiled trousers. Robert was there, humming softly in a brown polka-dotted gown. Alisha thrust a newspaper at Alan, as he sat up blinking. He took the paper, and the first thing that met his sleepy eye was this:    BUMPER STRIKES AGAIN   MINE WORKER WINS $40,000 His name accentuated at him from the printed page and with it, came a rolling drop of tear. Robert is the man he owes a 20,000$.
