Illusion - 55 Fiction

Inertia was quick impending. In the illicit confines, an illuminating intellect was ignited as one of the inmates decided to immortalize his imagination by escaping from the prison. An incision was made and he crawled like an inchworm down an inclined passageway. Incredulously, he was hiding in his own imagination. The imbecile imposter was indicted.  Picture sourced from here P.S: I have tried to use as many words starting with "I' as possible. Do let me know your take/perspective on this 55 Fiction.

55F - His Birthday

In the wake of a subtly ironic incident which left me spellbound, the power of TV commercials becomes evident once again. I have tried to capture it in 55 words to keep it simple. Here goes: It is excruciating to have to select a gift for a 5 year old boy who already has all the toys in the world. After spending three hours in the gift shop, I chose a toy tent. On his birthday, I handed him the gift and said “ Happy Birthday ”. A familiar tone replied, “ Whose birthday?”   This piece of art is definitely not sourced from Google.       It took a couple of minutes for his reply to sink in. That darn tone, that darn ad! We had a good laugh. However, he loved the gift because he found a home for his toys. His mom is happy too, and you know why! J

55 Fiction - Dreams matter

Picture sourced from Google Images Mia’s face flashed through my mind. I thought about the endless fights; we often argued about my dream of becoming a filmmaker. She knows I have spent most of my life thinking about movies. I contemplated a thousand times.  I knew she wouldn’t agree but I clicked on ‘Submit Resignation’. I am one step closer.

55 Fiction - Play with me

Jake played with himself every day, from when he was born. He could always see a reflection of himself, a soulful companion, a sense of reverberating self-satisfaction when he played. One day he found out he wasn’t playing with himself. He rubbed his eyes and shrugged heavily. Dave kicked mildly, it was his twin brother. Picture sourced from google

55 Fiction - The Ride

The driver set off in a rather slow pace, ironically, in a crimson-sport Lamborghini.   While adjusting the rear view mirror, he saw two people sitting in two corners of the car and exchanging glances. The Sunrise Boulevard was covered in a bed of pink Sakura flowers. A board in the car read “Just Married”. Picture sourced from google and edited
