Xtreme

This is one thing I have been wanting to try - Action/ extreme/ adventure sports!!!  Although a ride in the giant wheel in the smallest theme park in town can make me nauseous, I really want to try out extreme sports, just for the thrill of it! :) I wish trekking and river crossing counted as adventure sports :P :D I have done that a lot! :D I am imagining being Bear Grylls's guest in one of his 'running wild' shows. The open-door helicopter ride, jumping off it in a jiffy (with a lot of harness on, of course), mountain climbing, rappelling, zip lining, bungee jumping, Feeling that adrenaline rush, feeling that fear kick inside you, whoa! just out of the world!  Oh yea baby! Pic source - Google images But, if you ask me if I'd do any of these if I get an opportunity, well, I would definitely get out of my comfort zone but I'd think twice :D Source - Google images Do you like living in the edge?  Have you ever tried extreme sports? Please share you...

Our little infinity

It was a beautiful day. “When a day starts like this, it is all uphill from here” said Zach Galifianakis in Due Date and I couldn't agree more! (Sorry Rob. Downey Jr.) This quarter of 2014 has been amazing and all social for me. I got into two team challenges, got to organize a dinner of huge scale at work and now I am part of this wonderful team doing a CSR activity  at a school (Ignore the jargon, I hate this term myself). I like calling it Happy Hours :) We went to a school this Tuesday. The journey was unfathomably exhausting because before we could reach the school as planned, at 10 AM, we had to go through a car breakdown, some last minute surprises, some last minute shocks, mobile switch off's and all this while  scorching sunny boy was shining right down at us . I made it sound simple, right? :)   Well, it wasn't; but every single minute we spent in the school with the vibrant and talented children made it worthwhile. No...

[Humor] - Shopping Mall crowd - Decoded

Staring shotguns - They are everywhere, one blaring stare, followed by next. Desperate uncles, jobless shoppers, housewives, nice-looking girls, security personnel, sweeping staff, staff from branded showrooms where even a housefly would hesitate to visit and not to forget the maniacs who peep into the toilets they can’t use. Did you know that the latest fad for a picnic spot for school kids is ‘visiting an overcrowded mall? You stare like this, stranger?  Here is my answer. Digest this! Clumsy kids - Kids running around with shopping trolleys in the madding crowd are a regular phenomenon in malls, especially when their moms are busy buying lipsticks and Kajals. Some kids do acrobatics by running in the opposite side of the travelators, which makes you want to hit the kids’ careless parents heads with a hard rock. Yes, one has to blame the grownups for such unbothered attitude. I feel bad for those parents who let go of their kids and later fi...

Back to School

I was up early this morning, shrugging off the coziness of a Sunday that went by and looking forward to a new week. Sipping my filter coffee and waiting for some morning cognizance in the form of ‘The Hindu’ daily, I noticed that the paper-man was late  today . Looking outside eagerly, from the balcony, I saw an unusual buzz for a Monday Morning. Yellow buses and vans haphazardly hovered through the narrow road; I noticed a few kids sporting bright uniforms carrying water bottles in different hues, looking so animated. Caught in a reverie, I thought the newspaper man’s kid must also be in one of these buses. May be he got busy attending to them, I mused. This is the time of the year when ‘sunny’ boy   gently subsides as monsoon beckons and we are ready for yet another beginning.   Of excitement and apprehension, the smell of crisp uniform and the meeting of new friends, the thought of mom’s love and the thought of a new teacher, school going is a mélange of an eerie...

11 Past 11

Intuitive Revelation – 7 years ago Usually, I never let strange things get the better of me until that quirky day. An aversion for watches grew and I had developed the habit of checking the time in my mobile. On that day, I was gaily walking towards my college canteen. A bystander stopped me short and asked “What is the time, please?” Quarter past ten! “10:10” I said. After receiving a ‘thanks’, I went on to have a nice and strong coffee. Walking back to my class room, I noticed the library was deserted; so I walked straight in for a quick read. Interestingly, I found a travel book on Germany and I was engrossed in it. From Berlin wall to the Black forest, the pictures were so mesmerizing. While I was falling in love with Germany, all over again, I looked up to see the time. Darn! My Java classes must have already begun. The time was 11:11. I realized that after a few mind-numbing seconds as the Java teacher was a real ‘Hitler’!!! Current day I wonder if I belong t...

The boomerang series – How it came back straight at me - Sydney Airport

Kingsford smith airport was crowded that afternoon. There were people dressed in all colors, but all I could see is a time lapse effect of people moving. I shook myself deliberately to come back to reality. Source - Google Images                                                                      The harsh reality sunk in, I was in a different country... in a different continent and I saw a long (must have been a kilometer long) queue. I checked out my luggage and joined the queue as the 1000 th person. I was exhausted, I couldn’t feel my feet, my mouth was all dry and I was starving. I saw people running here and there with a bunch of papers in hand. I too carried my passport, tickets, and my immigration form. Whe...
