Green good Living

I dream of a toxin-free, organic lifestyle for the trees and plants around us. A green good lifestyle.

The Boomerang - Kangaroos and Koalas - A day at the wildlife park in Sydney

Getting used to Sydney like never before, eluding divulging silence in my heart, freeing myself off inhibitions; I was flying across seven seas. Well, I didn't mean to sound that poetic ;) It is just that the world is celebrating V-day and the fever has gotten into me. Coming back to my Sydney Boomerang series… (Find a recap  here ) When I landed in Sydney, I almost forgot about the fact that I am in Australia; a place known for the most pristine landscapes in the world. It also is home for some beautiful animals - If someone asks me what I love about Sydney, I’d say Kangaroos and Koalas. On second thought, why leave out little Wombats, Possums and Wallabies, they are cute ones too, right?!. A Joey says”Hi” At Featherdale Wildlife Park, Sydney Hello there! It was a scorching summer day, perfect nevertheless for a trip around the city and we headed to the Featherdale park in Sydney. I was lucky to see some friendly a...

That Letter of Love - Drabble

Humming blithely one morning as I opened your letters; outside, the sky was blue and the sun shining. It felt good to be alive. I had let them languish in a box and let them ferment into dark poison, as if to entertain the ghosts in my house. I opened the first letter. It read “I am leaving you and leaving the earth”. A sharp ray of light struck my forehead and I wanted to fly. Far up, until the crisp air thins and  I'd  never want to come back down. The sky was still blue, the sun still shining.

The Boomerang - A Pause, a reflection and…

One should not hold on to stuff that one needs to let go. I know I want to let go of a lot many things and honestly speaking, I am working on changing and that's why I am writing this series. I want to be able to release all my anxiety and just enjoy my existence. I am enjoying the process of figuring all this out. It's just takes time. Eventually I'll get my thoughts, emotions and life aligned. Too much philosophy??? Okay, I will get right to the story now!!! That' s me gulping down a burger at Sydney airport It was a bit of a drizzle when I stepped out to get a taxi. Searching for the taxi stand, I started walking. There were so many cars going out and coming in; all big ones. I couldn't figure out which a taxi was. I thought about how easy it was to spot an auto in India (Black and yellow, not so mellow). A couple of cars just drew close and stopped. Both had taxi caps!! Voila!!  I gave him the address and told him I had only US currency wit...

A Travel Memoir

Ever Yours, This will be a memoir of my visit to my favorite place in the world. I won’t make it a schmaltzy, nostalgia-struck narrative; I want this to be both a fond memory and a useful guide. Picture taken when I was taking the Cahill walk - Amazing view from up there!!! Sydney is not just a city; it is a lot of things.     I am in love with a city; vivid and happening, full of life, dreams, lush green landscapes, koalas, kangaroos and of course the Opera house!!! Picture taken at Feather dale National park                                               When I first landed there I was literally broke and I barely knew a soul. But the city taught me to think, learn, explore and live. Sydney is not just a c...
