The monsoon makes me want to
write poetry, but poetry doesn’t come so easy to a compulsive thinker as me.
When I see the rain, I think about the mist clad mountains, I remember Hobbit’s
“Far over, the misty mountains cold, dungeons deep and caverns old” and it
echoes in similar macho voices in my mind. It is a tad spooky, don’t you
reckon?
Rains lashing, cats and dogs pouring down, I sit inside the car and muse how the clouds swell up and how rain pours down. Magic!
I will not stop at anything. I will not stop at anything but food. Those are the words that keep me going when we are driving from the North to the Southern part of Kerala. A beautiful retreat of a journey it is, lovely landscape and welcoming backwaters.
With my nose struck to the glass
window of the car, I see a motion picture unwind in front of me. I see goats,
cows, dogs and sheep, I even see snakes. I dwell in the comfort of being the
pillion rider and never miss a chance to look out the window. I also notice
this restaurant which comes by every 25 kilometers and I wonder how rich they
must be to open so many as a restaurant chain. I observe closely and I see
that not all the restaurant names are identical. Here is the variation list:
Hotel Aryas
Hotel Aryaas
Hotel Shri Aryaas
Hotel Sri Aryaas
Hotel Shri Arya Bhavan
Hotel Aryaaas
Hotel Arya
Hotel Aaryaas
Hotel Aryaa’s
Hotel Ariyaas
Veg Ariyaas Hotel
I check their website quickly and
they say they don’t stop 'At Being A Quality Hotel Chain', but I have only one
question in mind, are they ‘A’ hotel or a hotel chain?

I took advantage of this thought, told this stark revelation to my husband and asked him to stop by at the next ‘Arya (aaaas)’ hotel. We had delicious ghee dosas and vada and some piping hot filter coffee, it was wonderful and I have no complaints whatsoever.
Yea.. next is Anand Bhavan ;)

DeleteNice post. Where is this restaurant that you had delicious ghee dosa and vada. I would check this out on my next trip to Chennai (which will be very soon). Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked the post, SG. We dined at Hotel Aryaas :) I like the fact that they served 3 varieties of chutneys with my dosa. You should definitely try it. But you might have to come to Coimbatore to do that :)
DeleteThanks for the info Rohini. I will keep this in mind.
