Streets of Sydney

A pinch of poetry with a serving of pictures for you! :)       Tripping along the streets alone, Tiptoeing across Rue de Cremorne*, I passed a church, a breezy boulevard and a bumpy lane Walking through the leafy carpets in jubilation.   The streets of Sydney! Of people, suburbs, stations, unknown music and flowers… Of mountain-peaks, waterfalls, oriflammes and briars. The streets of Sydney!    * Cremorne is a suburb in Sydney          That's all folks!   Please click on the below link to access all my A-Z posts - A - Z Challenge - The Unruled Notebook

Harbour Viewing

Summers are extreme in Australia and Sydney is no exception. But, it was always beautiful when I visited the harbour, the views were breathtaking.  At the heart of the city, a stunning harbour view reaches the  Sydney's  impressive skyline - Harbour viewing is a labour of love!!! I am sharing some pictures that I treasure of the harbour bridge and some beautiful harbour views here: (Please click on the picture to view the original size) Huge, charming trees hugging the harbour like they were chums!!! No idea what this flag signifies, but I randomly shot this picture from the harbour. I would give up a penthouse suite in Burj Khalifa for this view! If you zoom in, you can see a person soul searching right in the middle of the sea!  One of my favorite places in the world! Yes, that IS the Sydney Harbour Bridge. I never missed a chance to walk here during the weekends. I clicked this picture from a ferry at the Circular Quay. Th...

[Humor] - Shopping Mall crowd - Decoded

Staring shotguns - They are everywhere, one blaring stare, followed by next. Desperate uncles, jobless shoppers, housewives, nice-looking girls, security personnel, sweeping staff, staff from branded showrooms where even a housefly would hesitate to visit and not to forget the maniacs who peep into the toilets they can’t use. Did you know that the latest fad for a picnic spot for school kids is ‘visiting an overcrowded mall? You stare like this, stranger?  Here is my answer. Digest this! Clumsy kids - Kids running around with shopping trolleys in the madding crowd are a regular phenomenon in malls, especially when their moms are busy buying lipsticks and Kajals. Some kids do acrobatics by running in the opposite side of the travelators, which makes you want to hit the kids’ careless parents heads with a hard rock. Yes, one has to blame the grownups for such unbothered attitude. I feel bad for those parents who let go of their kids and later fi...

A mountain trip such as this is worth it even when the rain gods shower their unconditional love upon you, right when you are out in the open and running for cover isn’t a cool option in the woods, don't you think? Let’s ride into the memory lane of one of the best mountain trips I have had till date – The Katoomba - Blue Mountains. I feel incredibly fortunate to have realized this dream, the dream of travelling and my love for sharing it is as contagious. So, join me folkies, I am confident that you will enjoy this journey. Before we go on, I would like you to meet Kat and Oomba who made my trip particularly interesting with their sublime humor . We were here - We started walking from the Katoomba station to the echo point to experience the scenic extravaganza A random picture clicked on our way to the Blue Mountains   The long roads are a pleasurable sight and sight only, the walk was quite a trek in itself    A...

The Boomerang - Meet Kat and Oomba from the Blue mountains

The cheery bunch started off after having buttered raisin toast and piping hot mocha for brunch to Katoomba – The Blue mountains for a Sunday trip. Sunshine was seeping through the clouds as we made our way to the mountains... here is a glimpse of our day trip to the easily accessible, soothingly beautiful and a blue-y paradise near Sydney in New South Wales. "I am KAT and he is OOMBA" said the gentleman in green shirt. I don't know their real names but that moment is framed and kept safe in my memory attic and I am so glad they posed for me :)                             We were on our way to witness the beauty of the Blue Mountains and also to catch sight of the much talked about, legendary, 3 sisters . The mighty tall trees which almost gave shade to the next s...
